A New Event!
Unafilliated Dressage - Sunday 7th September 2008

Due to enthusiastic demand, the Felsted Horse Society are delighted to confirm that an 'Unaffiliated Dressage' event will now take place on Sunday 7th September at Sunnybrook Farm in Felsted.

Another Great Event - Showing Show

FHS again held its Showing Show at Sunnybrook Farm by kind permission of Mrs. Joan Marshall. Following our 50th Anniversary Show it was good to see several “old” members returning to compete and there was a high standard in both the horse and pony classes.

Championships were sponsored by Conor Fenelon Equine Clinic and we are grateful for their support and attendance at our events this year.

The Committee would like to thank all the Judges, Stewards and helpers for their hard work to make a successful show and an enjoyable day.

Be Vigilant Against Horse Thieves

There have been many reports of men taking photographs of horses in the area.  A white Transit and a red Landcruiser have been mentioned in connection with these sightings.

Latest reports say that 14 horses have been stolen in the Nottingham area and again these vehicles have been seen, along with a silver transit reg Y848 XNR (probably false plates).

Appleby Horse fair is about to be held, so please be very vigilant and warn your horsey friends.

Charity Fun Ride Report 2008

April had been such a wet month that we feared that our annual charity fun ride on 27th April might have been washed away.  However the day started fine and despite a few showers the real rain held off until the end.

Even though the forecast was not great we had our best entries for many years.  Everyone was very keen to get out and canter away the cobwebs. The course at Furness Farm rode really well and everyone returned happy and safely.

Our charity this year was PARC ( Essex ) a play and respite centre for disabled children and their families. The work on the new building is underway and money raised is to going towards fitting it out when it is finished.

My thanks go to my fellow committee members Norma and David and especially Peter. Jeanette and Peter, our paramedics, Poppies catering, jnaphotography and of course Simon Upton for his lovely course.

Thank you to everyone who entered and made it such a super day.  I hope you enjoyed yourselves and it would be great to see you at one of our summer shows.  They are on the 20^th July and 17^th August. Further details can be found in the Events section of this website.
